In 1998 ERSE set out to improve on the vast array of capacitors available to high end speaker and amplifier manufacturers. As always our goal was to set out to improve performance at a value while trying to improve quality and performance. In order to achieve this we had to set out to work closely with Europen and Japanese manufacturers of metalized film. The end result was a key improvement in the quality and cost of metalized polypropylene film, the key component in quality capacitors. The film used in our PulseX capacitors is very high purity Polypropylen film. This is a key component in getting very low dissipation factors. The film is sprayed with a thick coating of Aluminum and Zinc to achieve lower ESR and improved sonics. To reduce microphonics this capacitor goes through a dual stage heat curing process to prevent mechanical oscillations within the capacitor. Most capacitors at this price point are not even heat cured. We then developed a proprietary method of materials for a dual stage side spray which connects all of the layers of film. This proprietary method of side spray helped lower ESR and improved the tonality of the capacitor all while improving the reliability of the PUlseX capacitor. Each PulseX capacitor lead is hand soldered and welded for superior connections and reliability. Most capacitors in this price range offer welded and not hand soldered connections.
